Outside-left ”Ginger” Littlefair was signed from Burradon Athletic in April 1900 and made his debut in the goalless draw at home to The Wednesday twelve months later.
He played creditably, showing a fine turn of speed and dribbling and middling the ball very smartly. He also played in the last game of the same season against Bury where he again shaped wonderfully well with Heywood.
Over the next two seasons he was a regular member of the Reserves, but was never selected for the First eleven again and returned from whence he came in September 1904.
