15/11 - Stanley Cricket Club meets at Mr. Allen’s of Shields Road, Byker and decides to form a football team.

26/11 - STANLEY v ELSWICK LEATHER WORKS 2ND - The first match of the Stanley club is played on their own ground at South Byker. After a pleasant game the Stanley win by five goals to nil. Team: Thomas S. Phalp, goal; J. Hobson and J. Gardner, backs; A. Marr and J. Armstrong, half-backs; J. P. Cook and R. Findlay, forwards, right-wing: W. Coulson (captain) and W. Findlay, centres; J. McKenzie and J. Dixon, left wing.

10/12 - STANLEY v NORTH-EASTERN 2ND - Played on the ground of the latter at Heaton, and results in a victory for the Stanley by 3 goals (1 disputed), to 1 goal for North-Eastern 2nd. Team: J. Dixon, goal; J. Hobson and J. Gardner, backs; Thomas S. Phalp, and J. Armstrong, half backs; right wing, J. P. Cook and J. Fenwick; centres, W. Coulson (captain) and W. Findlay; left-wing, G. 24/12 - STANLEY v NEWCASTLE FA. 2ND - The game ends in a pointless draw. Team: Dixon, Gardner, White, Phalp, Marr, Cook, Findlay, Coulson (captain), Hobson, W. Findlay, Sims.

21/01 - STANLEY (SOUTH BYKER) v ELSWICK LEATHER WORKS (2nd) - This return match is played on the ground of the latter, when the visitors again prove victors by two goals to nil. The Stanley, although minus the muscular strength of their opponents, show their superiority in the dribbling and passing system.

21/01 - STANLEY 2ND v TYNE PILGRIMS (JUNIORS). - A match between these associated clubs is played on the ground of the former, at St. Peter's, and after a pleasant game results in a win for the Tyne by one goal to nil, which is kicked by W. Muras. Whitten, Gardner, Phalp and Watson show best for the losers. 04/02 - STANLEY (SOUTH BYKER) V NEWCASTLE FA (2nd). This return match is played on the ground of the former, and results in a very easy victory to the home team by seven goals (two disputed) to nil. The Newcastle play two men short. Team: J. Dixon, goal; Hobson and Black, backs; Marr and Armstrong, half backs; Cook and Simpson, right wing; W. Coulson (captain) and W. Findlay, centres; McKenzie and R. Findlay. left wing.

04/02 - NORTH-EASTERN JUNIORS v STANLEY (2ND) - The match between these association clubs takes place on the ground of the former, at Heaton, and after a very exciting game, each side scores one goal, thus ending in a tie. Team: J. S. Phalp, goal; Gardner and Muras (substitute), backs; Gladstone and Coulson, half backs; Watson (capt.) and Lightfoot (right wing), Speight and Chadwick (centres), Simms and Whiddon (left wing), forwards.

11/02 - STANLEY v DERWENT ROVERS - The Derwent Rovers defeat the Stanley club at Burnopfield by three goals to two.

18/02 - STANLEY (2ND) v MARLBOROUGH - These young association clubs meet on the ground of the former at South Byker to play off a match, which, after a pleasant game, is won by the home team by three goals to one. Owing to the high wind blowing, good play on either side is out of the question. Team: T. S. Phalp, goal; J. Gardner and T. Watson (captain), backs; Muras (sub.) and Blackett, half backs; R. Coulson and R. Lightfoot (right wing), Speight and W. Chadwick (centres), J. Gladstone and J. T. Simms (left wing), forwards.

25/02 - STANLEY 2ND V NORTH-EASTERN JUNIORS - Played on the ground of the latter at Heaton, and after a very exciting game results in a draw, each side scoring two goals Team: J Hobson; backs, TH Watson and TH Phalp; half-back, R. Murray and J. Gledson; forwards (right wing) J. T. Simm and WH. Whiddon, (centres) J. Speight and W. Chadwick, (left wing) R. Coulson and R. Lightfoot.

04/03 - STANLEY 2ND V RANGERS JUNIORS - Stanley win 2-0 at Byker although one of the goals is disputed. Team: J Hobson; backs, TH Watson and TH Phalp; half-back, R. Murray and J. Gledson; forwards (right wing) J. T. Simm and WH. Whiddon, (centres) J. Speight and W. Chadwick, (left wing) R. Coulson and R. Lightfoot.

11/03 - STANLEY (SOUTH BYKER) U. RANGERS 2ND.- This match is played on the ground of the former on Saturday, and results in a victory for the Stanley, who played exceedingly well throughout. Team: J. Hobson, J. Dixon, W. Black, J. Armstrong, A. Marr, J.P. Cook, J. Simpson, W. Findlay, W.A. Coulson (Capt), G. McKenzie, R. Findlay.

11/03 - STANLEY 2ND V NEWCASTLE FA. JUNIORS - Played on the ground of, and won by, the latter 2-1.

18/03 - STANLEY v BURNOPFIELD - Played at the ground of the former who win 2-0 after a very pleasant & thoroughly contested game. Team: J.Hobson, Dixon, Black, Armstrong, Marr, Watson, W.Findlay, J.Fenwick, R. Findlay, G. McKenzie, & W.A.Coulson (captain).

18/03 - STANLEY 2ND v MARLBOROUGH - The Stanley win 2-0 at Marlborough. Team: J. Speight, Hay, T. Liddle, Whidden, Coulson, Chadwick, T. Watson, A. Marr, Simms, J. Gladstone, T. Blackett.

25/03 - STANLEY v DERWENT ROVERS - Although the visitors play with only eight men they win 2-0 at Byker. Team: Hobson, Dixon, Black, Marr, Armstrong, Simpson, Fenwick, Findlay, Coulson, McKenzie

April

01/04 - STANLEY OF BYKER v BURNOPFIELD 2ND - At the home of the former the visitors play down the slope in the first half with the wind in their favour; but they are unable to score. In the second half Stanley soon show their superiority in passing and score twice to win a very pleasant and thoroughly contested game. Team; Hobson, Dixon, Black, Armstrong, Marr, Watson, W. Findlay, J. Fenwick, R. Findlay, G. McKenzie, W.A. Coulson.

08/04 - BURNOPFIELD V. STANLEY - Played on the ground of the former, on Saturday, and after a very pleasant game, the Burnopfield come off victorious by two goals to nil. Team: Dixon, goal; R Miller and Black, backs; Armstrong and Phalp, half backs; Cook, Simpson. Gardner, Fenwick, Coulson, and Finlay, forwards. Umpires: Stanley, Mr. Cook; Burnopfield, Mr. Brabban.
